Butynediol propoxylate is a light yellow transparent liquid with resistance to consumption and good coating leveling properties. It is one of the intermediates in nickel electroplating and is usually used in conjunction with auxiliary brighteners such as PAP, PPS, PVSS, COSS, PESS, or MOSS as a long-lasting brightener and weak leveling agent. BMP is a condensation product of butynediol and epichlorohydrin, which has excellent electroplating properties and can be used to improve the glossiness and smoothness of coatings. In addition, BMP also has anti-corrosion properties and can be used for anti-corrosion of oilfield pipelines as a corrosion inhibitor.
