Lithium bis (trifluoromethanesulfonyl) imide is a white hygroscopic powder with the chemical formula C2F6LiNO4S2 and a molecular weight of 287.08. This lithium salt has extremely high solubility in aqueous solution, about 6 kg/L, and is therefore widely studied as an electrolyte component for lithium-ion batteries. Due to its high electrochemical stability and conductivity, it has important application value in clean energy devices such as secondary lithium batteries, supercapacitors, and aluminum electrolytic capacitors. In addition, lithium bis (trifluoromethanesulfonyl) imide is also used in the synthesis of polymeric ionic liquids containing imidazole core monomers and as a raw material for novel rare earth Lewis acid catalysts.
