2-Nitrodiphenylamine is an organic compound with orange red plate-like crystals. It is slightly soluble in chloroform, DMSO, and methanol, and almost insoluble in water. 2-Nitrodiphenylamine is used as an intermediate in chemical synthesis, especially in the synthesis of dyes and certain specialty fuels. In addition, it is also used as a stabilizer for rocket propellants, especially as a stabilizer for double base rocket propellants, which can improve their storage life. In industry, 2-nitrodiphenylamine can be prepared by reacting o-nitrochlorobenzene with aniline in the presence of sodium acetate at 190-200 ℃ for 12 hours. It should be noted that 2-nitrodiphenylamine may be harmful to health, and exposure symptoms include irritation to the skin, eyes, mucous membranes, and upper respiratory tract. During heating decomposition, toxic gases such as carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, and nitrogen oxides may be released.
